"Young Barristers" will publish study findings on copyright challenges and trends.

2 August, 2022

The organization "Young Barristers" will host a research presentation on the difficulties, evaluation of the present situation, and trends in the area of copyright and related rights on August 3, 2022.

According to "Young Barristers," the number of disputes in common courts and the examination of legislation, on the one hand, and the current debate of the subject, on the other hand, determine the interest in research in the field. For instance, the organization wrote to the Tbilisi City Court on April 13, 2022, requesting statistical data detailing the types of cases the said instance heard from 2019 to 2022. It has been determined that 140 cases involving copyright and related rights were filed with the Tbilisi City Court in 2019, 241 cases in 2020, and 82 cases in 2021, which are still pending, demonstrating the significance of the demands and trends in the field in the direction of author rights protection and damages compensation.

The "Young Barristers" research's primary goals are to defend the author's rights and to assess the difficulties, trends, and realities of the industry.

The publication offers an overview of current concerns such the research of service satisfaction, the practice of employing copyright protection organizations, the significance and attitudes of copyright protection, and a comparison of data.

In collaboration and involvement with the global research and management consulting firm "ACT," the organization produced the document. A group of experts on the subject worked together to gather precise information and disseminate the problem to the general public. The publication included a detailed analysis of the field's present difficulties, statistics based on a research of the opinions of the field's active participants, and results and conclusions. The research is the first important business document that will be made available to the general public, interested parties, and users from all relevant sectors.

The goal of the study is to encourage the creation of impartial opinions and constructive debate about the topic in a democratic society.

The organization conducts research for the media, associations, the diplomatic corps, international organizations, corporate representatives, executive, legislative, and judicial authorities. The meeting will start at 12:00.
