5 May, 2014

Organization the “Young Barristers” addresses Government of Georgia with a recommendation to finance education of students from regions and implement new regulations of further employment along with increased powers of self-government units in forthcoming local elections.

According to statements of lawyer of the “Young Barristers” – Mariam Neparidze, in a process of decentralization, the government of Georgia must pay attention to practice of various European countries towards the presented initiatives, according to which, students from regions who were successfully accepted to universities are financed by local self-governments of each school which takes responsibility to bring the student back to the region after graduation and employ for some time in departments of self-governments. This way the employed youth return the educational fees to the self government with their own salaries.

According to the “Young Barristers”, this practice must be implemented in Georgia after applying legislative amendments and increasing powers of self-government units. Implementation of initiative will promote development of regional policy in regions of Georgia, increased qualification of youth along with receiving practical experience, which currently represents one of the problematic issues of the country.

The “Young Barristers” addresses Government of Georgia, ministries of Health of Georgia, Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, Education and Science of Georgia in order to take into account recommendations of the organization, experience of foreign countries and promote system of financing education of youth in universities and in exchange employ them after return to home regions.

Organization the “Young Barristers” is ready to actively cooperate with governmental and self-governmental authorities in case they are interested to participate in implementing the amendments and detailed regulations.
