Sociological research of the “Young Barristers”

30 May, 2014

The “Young Barristers” carried out a sociological research on May 30th in Tbilisi in order to determine ratings of 2014 local self-government elections. The research was carried out in three crowded places of Tbilisi – Saakadze square, Rustaveli Avenue and Marjanishvili Square. In total, 1000 citizens were surveyed.

The questionnaire comprised six questions. The citizens had to answer the following questions: “Whether they are willing to take part in elections or not”, “Whether they are acquainted with electoral programs of the candidates”, “Which candidate they support for position of Tbilisi Mayor”, “Which issues are primary to be solved by new governors and city councils members”, “How fair is the pre-electoral environment and what causes fairness and transparency of pre-electoral environment”.

The research results will be published by the “Young Barristers” on June 8th. This is not the first electoral survey for the organization. The “Young Barristers” carried out a similar research before presidential elections in 2013.
