According to the Young Barristers, Georgia's accession to the European Union is a strategic goal of the country's foreign policy, which fully reflects the will of the population to become a dignified and full member of democracies. The problems and challenges facing Georgia, which have significantly hampered the country's European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations, must be thoroughly eliminated in order to make reality a chance to achieve the goal.

According to the Young Barristers, Georgia is applying for EU membership at the right time and in the right circumstances. At the same time, it is important to provide the public with timely and necessary information on the procedures for applying for EU membership in order to have the right perceptions and expectations. Although EU law provides for an assessment of the applicant's outcomes in various areas of the post-application period, submission of an application does not imply immediate acquisition of EU membership, but in the event of a political decision, an exceptional decision may be taken. In the case of Romania and Bulgaria, for example, the context of international developments and threats was taken into account, which resulted in EU policy decisions making the named countries members of the EU, although in fact neither Bulgaria nor Romania met the EU eligibility criteria. . Together with Ukraine, today, Georgia and Moldova have such a political chance. Consequently, all three countries have already applied for EU membership, which is extremely important.

According to the Young Barristers, Georgia's application for EU membership is a non-partisan event, which should lead to the consolidation of parliamentary or non-parliamentary parties within the country, the continuation of democratic reforms and the unity of society. The organization believes that by submitting an application for EU membership on the path to European integration, the accountability and responsibility of both the government and the political parties to the people will increase, which will inevitably require efforts:

• Protection of the rule of law;

• Transparency of public administration;

• Real participation of the people in the process of political decisions;

• Raising public awareness on the benefits of European integration;

• Strengthening and reforming the independence of the judiciary.

On the way to EU membership, the main objectives of Georgia's foreign policy are the effective implementation of the opportunities of the free trade area, the deepening of strategic cooperation in the field of security policy, the implementation of the Visa Liberalization Action Plan, the promotion of effective EU assistance within the EU.
