"Young Barristers"starts implementing the project "Local Leaders” for graduating students of Schools in Mtskheta Municipality. The project takes place within the grant competition “Children and Youth Development Fund” of the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs of Georgia.

The goal of the project is to hold a broader dialogue with graduating students, to raise their awareness on legal issues and civic values, to find the students with special talents and introduce them to the public, to get young people interested in participation in the democratic process.

For this purpose, high school students will take part in the competition and present analytical articles on the following topics: "Georgia's European choice - Capacity Analysis," "Georgia's territorial integrity - the prospects for the future" and "civil society's responsibility standards", which will be evaluated by the selection committee.

The winner of the project and successful articles will become known to the public. The participants will be the 12th graders from 31 public schools of Mtskheta Municipality. They will have the opportunity to choose from any of the three proposed topics, provide analytical articles in accordance with the terms and conditions of the competition and the competition commission will reveal one winner on each topic. The project will reveal first, second and third best authors, and papers which will be rated as one of the best works will be published in the newspaper along with the winner articles.  In the end of the project there will be a conference with the participation of experts of the relevant areas of competition topics. The presentation of the newspaper will take place and authors of winner and successful articles will be awarded.

There will be one restriction for public schools who would like to participate in the project organized by the "Young Barristers.” The school will have an opportunity to choose only one topic out of three presented. Currently the competition commission is being formed. The Educational Resource Center of Mtskheta Municipality has already expressed their will to support the project. In November, "Young Barristers" will meet the students and explain how they can get involved in the project.

“Young Barristers” estimates, the contest about one of the most important issues will be the first case which will gain interest of other public schools and their students in the municipality. Finding new faces and bringing their abilities on spotlight will make it possible to make the initiative permanent. The main goal of the project will be to involve students of schools in different activities which will prepare them to stay motivated to study at universities and show the proper attitude towards the professional development opportunities.

"Young Barristers" started the project for Mtskheta Municipality public schools on 28th of October and it will be finished on 15th of December. The organization points out that the contest will determine high school students' motivation and their civic responsibilities, young people’s field of  interests and promote new visions, reveal the creative focuses while discussing topics and establishe new approaches, identify the quality of high school students' participation in the project. The opinions expressed in the discussion topics will be evaluated by European standards and introduced to the people who create the public politics.
