Organization the “Young Barristers” joined a protest rally, during which the members of Georgian Bar Association expressed solidarity for Denys Bugay – an arrested famous human rights protector, the head of Ukrainian Bar Association. The solidarity action was held in front of the embassy of Ukraine in Georgia.
Denys Bugai was arrested on March 21st 2014. He has been accused of professional activities without compliance with law. The Ukrainian lawyers speak about infringement of norms which occurred during the arrest.
The Georgian Bar Association addressed the European Bar Association to immediately investigate grounds of arrest od Denys Bugai and reac accordingly.
