Representatives of European Union will participate in the project hosted by “Young Barristers”. As it is noted in the letter sent to organization by the representatives of European Union, the manager of jurisdictive department, Oliver Reisner, will participate in the project and take part in local conferences, which will be held at the end of the project. In addition to this, Georgian representatives of European Union state their readiness to support the competition, which already started during the project and award the winners.
For the information: “Young Barristers” closed the first session of “Together for European Choice” after meeting with youth of Marneuli. The organization offered youth public lecture about Georgian-European relation and history, opportunities and expectations of Georgia’s European choice. The presentation of special newsletter was held during the session, which was prepared specifically for this project and encapsulates comprehensive information about Georgian Euro integration process. At the end of the session, the organization announced a competition for local youth, according to which, 12th graders, students and citizens under 25, will be able to create an analytical article on the topic “Georgia on the way of Euro Union”, the topics will be sent to competition committee, the winner articles and authors will be announced, authors will be awarded in September, articles will be collectively published and closing conference will be hold.
The project is being supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Education and Science, Office of the State Minister of Georgia on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, Information Center of NATO and EU, Committee of European Integration, Samtskhe Javakheti and Qvemo Qartli Government Attorney, Marneuli and Akhaltsikhe Municipal Council Local Educative Resoursecenters. At the moment, the organization is still waiting for the response from the Office of the State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civic Equality and from representatives of European Union and Council of Europe in Georgia. Project is also supported by representatives of European Union in Georgia.
On the basis of organisation’s evaluation, European choice for Georgia is a responsible, historical moment, and involvement of young generation for self-consciousness, order and social environment is crucial. The essence of the project was above stated reasons, that it still is not possible to thoroughly inform citizens, with inclusion of ethnical minority, about the importance and responsibility of Georgia’s Euro integration. To overcome the problem, it is essential for youth to be informed about the good and importance of Euro integration.
“Young Barristers“ are holding the project “Together for European Choice” for youth of Marneuli and Akhaltsikhe. Project started on May 5th and will conclude on September 5th, but the acceptance of articles will last until August 15th. The first session was held on July 1st, in Akhaltsikhe, followed by the one on July 3rd in Marneuli. The second part of the project will be fully concerned with the works of competition committee, the acceptance and evaluation of articles, their publishment, organization of local conferences and rewarding of the winners. The project is financially supported by “Children & Youth Development Fund”.
