The organization “Young Barristers”, regarding the high public interest, makes public the information which gives rise to new circumstances on the case of high-ranking officials’ arrest of the Ministry of Defence of Georgia.

According to statement of co-founder and cheaf executive of the “Young Barristers” – Archil Kaikatsishvili, the existence of relative connections between arrested officials of the Ministry of Defense and senior managements of "Silkneti" became known. In particular, the commercial director of company "Silkneti" - Bacho Chinchaladze’s mother, Mrs. Tamar Batiahshvili is Alex Batiashvili's cousin, who is the deputy of the Minister of Defence of Georgia, factual family member. The organization points out in the company, since 2012, in the field of commercial transactions with public institutions was headed by Bacho Chinchladze. It is unknown for the organization what role was played the mentioned relationship in the tender terms and conditions of the contract between company "Silknet" and Ministry of Defense.

The organization “Young Barristers” remarks, that the inverstigation will have to determine what role was played this relationship and if there reveales private interests on the agreement between officials of the Ministry of Defense and company "Silkneti". All the factual circumstances must be determined regarding the so-called “Silknet case", as the crime carries the signs of corruption.

Allegation towards the high-ranking officials of Ministry of Defense raises questions about ineffective working of ministry and needs an answer from the minister's office on possible criminal activitis. It is mportant the investigation to determine whether there was systemic corrupt conduct and all public servants should be responsible, who regarding the case will be proved by the investigation, personaly connected to the issue.
