Organization “Young Barristers” appraise the decision of the President of Georgia,to represent Nino Gvenetadze to the parliament as a candidate for the position of chairman of supreme court of Georgia,as the step towards to the formation of legal state and independent juditial system.
According to the chief-executive of the organization „Young Barristers“ , Archil Kaikatsishvili, public expectations has been justified by president’s decision. There is no important reason for the parliament not to support Nino Gvenetadze. The First comment of Nino Gvenetadze,as the candidate is also remarkable. She believs that she will be able to guarantee juditial system independence and increase professional capacity of judges corps. We also believe, that Nino Gvenetadze can perform fair trial instead of politicaly influenced court, she can be the chief referee in the process of restoring justice.Otherwise, judicial system will step back for about 10 years in defending social interests and sharing European experience.
Organization is pretty sure, that Nino Gvenetadze is going to become the Chairman of Supreme Court ,who will meet the hardest heritage in judicial system. We believe, that her reputation, experience, impregnability deserves trust from the society and even more from the members of juditial system itself. Trust deserves also her publicly declaired view, that specialized chamber should be formed in the system of constitutional court and citizens should have chance to appeal dicisions of the court of cassation at the national level, before appealing to the European Court on Human Rights. We consider, that ”Small Strasbourg” model fully corresponds to the model of restoring justice mechanizms. Thus,we are sure that by Nino Gvenetadze juditial system in Georgia can have worthy leader and significant reformer
For the record: „Young Barristers“, together with other Civic organizations ,represented Nino Gvenetadze to the president of Georgia on February 9,2015.Prior to the representation ,organization gained her concent as a result of consultations.
