Organization “Young Barristers” offers the government of Georgia a new way for communication with the population of Abkhazia and Ossetia,according to which ,ministeries of the government of Georgia will be obliged to provide information, regarding their activities,current and ongoing reforms,state services and offers, in Abkhazian and Ossetian languages.
“Young Barristers” lawyer, Lasha Tsibatze talks about the need for the new strategy of communication with compatriots-population of Abkhazia and Ossetia, living in the occupied territories of Georgia,that will make it possible to create new attitudes towards cooperation and living together.New Communication Strategy will promote the process of well informing Abkhazian and Osstian population about the issues of political, legal and social importence.This will create right and objective appraisal of reforms in Georgia.The implementation of the initiative will incourage creation of meqanizm of getting over the conflict in the frameworks of social dialogue.Besides,it will make possibe to realize all the benefits and priorities of the European Choice of Georgia,which represent one of the most important issues in the process of self-oriantation for Abkhazian and Ossetian population.
„Young Barristeres“ have studied the effords of the government on this regard.For the moment it is possible to ensure the information about government activities only for Abkhazian population,that will be provided by Abkhazian Language translated version of the official web site of the government . According to the official information of government administration,the creation of Ossetian version of the web site has not planned for the moment. In addition,the organization has analyzed official web sites of differend ministries,where English and Russion translations turned to be preferential.None of the ministries official web sites have Abkhazian and Ossetian Translated versions.It should be noted,that according to Constitutional Provision “ Official Language of the state is Georgian,and in the territory of the autonomous republic of Abkhazia,also Abkhazian”.
“Young Barristers” refers Georgian Government to discuss the issue of creating Abkhazian and Ossetian language versions of the government institution official web sites during the process of dialogue and communications with occupied territories
For the record: Abkhazian translation of the official web site of the government of Georgia is ensured by bidding winner (NNLS) “the Institute of Georgian-Abkhazian Relations”. The Government of Georgia has provided Abkhazian translation of the official web-site since 16th of july 2010 and the expence for translation of the mentioned web site paid from the State Budget has reached 36358 GEL.
