The sitting of Scientific Advisory Council to the Committee on Human Rights and Civil Integration of the Parliament of Georgia was held on March 25, 2015. The Chairmen of the Council, Archil Kaikatsishvili, met with the representatives of the Civil Integration Sub-group member NGOs. The topic of the meeting was certain directions of the Council activities, the Council’s position towards today’s topical questions regarding civil integration, opportunities of the joint initiatives , Committee and Council format, support for the implementation of the Action Plan of the Committee on Human Rights and Civil integration of the Parliament (2015-2016) and the work of the Civil Integration Sub-group on short term issues. Archil Kaikatsishvili provided the Sub-group members with relevant information about the Council’s, as an independent advisory unit’s, future activities, scheduled changes and public relations strategies. The Deputy Chairman of the Committee on the Human Rights and Civil Integration of the Parliament of Georgia, Ruslan Poghosiani , attended the meeting.
According to Archil Kaikatsishvili, the activity of the Council is going to be very active and it will manage to contribute to the to the legislative activities by the Committee and objective evaluation of ongoing public issues. According to him, the Council starts active communication with the Sub-group members. Next meeting of the Council with the Sub-Group has been planned with involvement of all the organizations represented in the group.
