The organization is making special announcement regarding the question asked to the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Gharibashvili during the meeting with media representatives on March 26, 2015, regarding the issue of the Chairmen of the Constitutional Court of Georgia, Giorgi Papuashvili’s factual living in the house confiscated from Roland Bladadze.
The organization and the defenders of Ronald Bladadze’s legal interests note, that the question asked to the Prime Minister contained 3 factual inaccuracies. Due to the high social interest towards the case, following legal and factual circumstances of the case should be clarified. Specifically, the house owned by Roland Bladadze in Batumi, Gorgasali St.# 37, was transferred to the Chair of the Constitutional Court of Georgia, Giorgi Papuashvili in July 2007. According to the President’s decree on the “Privatization of the State property sold through the direct sale method to the members of the Constitutional Court of Georgia” , the property mentioned above was transferred to the Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Georgia Giorgi Papuashvili for the symbolic price of 1000 GEL by the former president of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili. The property was confiscated from Roland Bladadze in September 2004, regarded as illegal and unjustified.
According to the resolution adopted by the Prosecutor’s office of Autonomous Republic of Adjara in April 22, 2013, criminal persecution against Roland Bladadze has been terminated, due to the absence of the criminal activities envisaged by the Criminal Justice Code. He was acquitted of all the charges, accused to commit. This evidence makes it clear that, the confiscation of the house in 2004 , owned by Roland Bladadze, was illegal, as the accusation on the basis of which the recognition of the property, legally owned by him, as illegal and unjustified, and later confiscation of this property was demanded, has been based on unfounded and fictional evidences and thus had never existed. Specific legal activities regarding the case, are still in progress.
The organization notes , that the Prime Minister’s response to the journalist’s question was absolutely relevant and corresponding. For the situation of March 26, 2015, the case is under the Main Prosecutor’s Office consideration. The Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia , the Ministry of Justice of Georgia and other relevant agencies are also aware of this case.
The “Young Barristers”, as the organization defending Roland Bladadze’s legal interests, appeals to the journalists interested in the case, to verify and confirm with the barristers of the case all the issues, wrong representation of what, may mislead the society, create legally confusing attitudes or undermine implementation of restoring justice regarding the case.
