The training on migration issues was organized by “Young Barristers” in Kvemo Kartli

One-day training on migration issues, supported by the NGO “Young Barristers” and initiated by the Office of the State Minister of Georgia on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, was held  in Marneuli Public Service Hall for  the employees of Kvemo Kartli self- government. 

The representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Secretariat of the State Commission on Migration Issues, the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Accommodation and Refugees of Georgia and the Ministry of Internal Affairs attended the meeting. there have shared the information about the format of cooperation with EU (Association Agreement and DCFTA), current coordination of migration and future plans in this regard, implementation of Visa Liberalization Action Plan, rights and responsibilities of the citizens of Georgia in case of establishment of the Visa Free Movement with European Union and other important information with the representatives of Kvemo Kartli self-government. The issues of granting Georgian citizenship and residence permit, legal basis for foreign citizens “expulsion” from the State of Georgia and reintegration of migrants, returning to Georgia were also discussed during the meeting. Archil Kaikatsishvili, the Head of   “Young Barristers” reviewed importance of the NGOs in the process of European Integration and focused on the difficulties existing in this record.
