The ,,Young Barristers" got acquainted with the main directions of 2016 draft budget

On October 6, 2015, the representatives of the civil sector attended consideration of the draft budget in the Human Rights and Civil Integration Committee of the Parliament of Georgia. Members of the Non-Governmental organizations expressed their comments and opinions regarding the main financial document of the year 2016. As it was noted during the meeting, most of the remarks, made by the representatives of the civil sector turns out to be already reflected in the draft budget, which has been positively evaluated by the civil organizations.

The NGO “Georgian Democracy Initiative” got interested in the certain areas of the budget financing for the next fiscal year. In particular, they asked questions about criminal policy implementation measures and religious organizations financing issues. 

Gedevan Fofkhadze, the first Deputy Chairman of the Committee, noted, that the remarks, submitted by NGOs were substantiated. He also noted, that the advisory groups, working with the Committee should submit their remarks in accordance with relevant thematic directions in a timely manner in order to facilitate cooperation with the ministry of Finance regarding the financial issues. Archil Kaikatsishvili, the Head of the Advisory Council stated, that the Council will take active part in the consideration of the issues. The Council has already received draft budget and are now working on the recommendations.
