The Georgian NGO “Young Barristers” attended the 6th “best practice seminar” of the Eastern Partnership Minority Network Project. The Seminar lasted for two days, December 7 and December 8 and was organized by the “Analytical Center for Interethnic Cooperation and Consultations”.
Different NGOs from the Eastern Partnership countries – Georgia, Armenia, Moldova, Belarus, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, funded within the frameworks of the EaP Minority Network Project, in order to implement informational or advocacy campaigns for the ethnic minorities in their countries, participated in the Conference. The Last Conference will summarize activities done by Project partners and implementing members during last two years and provide space to discuss best practices developed through campaigning and pilot projects implementation. The guests exchanged their best practices and experiences, as well as the challenges and obstacles emerging during the process of campaigning for minority’s rights both for information or advocacy campaigns.
During the conference, 2 working groups were created, each of which had drafted recommendations, based on their own experience of the project implementations, which will further be helpful for other organization and the Network itself for elimination of the gaps, existing in the process of protecting minority’s rights.
We consider it relevant to note, that the NGO “Young Barristers” were given opportunity by the Analytical Center for Interethnic Cooperation and Consultations and EaP Minority Network Project to implement the small grant project “Ethnic Minority’s Forum 2015”. The project was on increasing Minority groups awareness in Akhaltsikhe and Marneuli Municipalities about the issues of European Integration.
